Job summary

MPI partners with a rapidly growing Southern California General Contractor to hire a Lead Superintendent. This role oversees field execution of large-scale multifamily and affordable housing developments, ranging from $20M to $60M+ in value.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of multifamily experience, with walk-up, podium, and wrap-style expertise, and a strong background in coordinating trades, sequencing, and project closeout.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of ground-up multifamily construction experience.
• Proven track record leading walk-up, podium, and wrap-style developments.
• Experience managing projects from site mobilization through turnover.
• Strong understanding of wood-frame over podium construction and MEP coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations from project start through completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors and daily site activities.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules.
• Conduct Three-Week Look-Ahead planning.
• Drive production while maintaining safety and quality.
• Ensure safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage site logistics, sequencing, and trade coordination.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, ownership groups, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Lead field meetings and provide project updates.
• Identify and resolve field challenges proactively.
