Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer II to support multiple SSD orders, leading small to medium projects and coordinating design with external contractors.

You will review customer specs, develop design tasks for power electronics-based substations and gas-insulated substations, prepare drawings, and provide installation oversight. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 5+ years in a project environment.
• Knowledge of real power (MW) and reactive power (Mvar).
• Advanced knowledge of substation equipment, instrumentation, and relay protection.
• Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings and materials.
• Advanced computer skills including Office, CAD, and engineering analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and coordinate multiple components and systems of high voltage substation projects.
• Review order documents to ensure they meet customer technical specifications.
• Develop and execute engineering tasks for design, construction, and testing of substation projects.
• Prepare or supervise preparation of drawings and documents in support of orders.
• Provide project oversight at the installation site during construction and testing.
• Prepare and present customer training.
