Job summary

Paradigm Power Delivery, Inc. is seeking a Lead Designer to shape the design and execution of power delivery projects for substations.

You will lead the design team, develop innovative engineering solutions, and ensure all designs meet regulatory and client requirements. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license preferred, and at least five years of substation engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in substation engineering.
• Proficiency with engineering design software and tools.
• Thorough understanding of electrical codes and standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead the physical design of substation and power delivery infrastructure, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Oversee sizing, technical specification, bidding, and FAT for heavy equipment like large transformers and switchgear.
• Support layout and design of steel structures, supports, foundations, and bus sizing for AIS or GIS substations.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to translate designs to the field.
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, and calculations for power delivery projects.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and provide technical support during development.
• Stay current on industry trends and integrate best practices into design processes.
