Job summary

Paradigm Power Delivery, Inc. is seeking a Lead Designer to shape the design and execution of power delivery projects. You will lead the design team, develop engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements.

Responsibilities include leading physical design of substations, overseeing FAT and bidding for large equipment, and mentoring junior designers while engaging with clients to define project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in substation engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and regulations for power delivery systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the physical design of substation and power delivery infrastructure.
• Oversee sizing, technical specification, bidding, and FAT for heavy equipment like transformers and switchgear.
• Support layout and design of steel structures, equipment supports, foundations, and bus sizing for AIS or GIS substations.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to translate designs to the field.
• Review and approve design drawings, specs and calculations.
