Job summary

American Electric Power in Tulsa, Oklahoma seeks an Engineer in the Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE) group to perform complex engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with NERC and industry standards for transmission grid configuration changes.

You will support field personnel in commissioning and verification, review outages, ensure as-built accuracy, and conduct root cause analyses to drive improvements across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program or ABET-equivalent; PE license encouraged/preferred.
• Passing the FE examination is encouraged and preferred; PE licensure may follow.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned work on the transmission grid.
• Review upcoming system outages for applicable configuration changes.
• Review engineering drawings and project information to ensure systems of record align with as-built condition.
• Perform root cause analysis on identified discrepancies to identify process improvements.
