Job summary

Momentum Power in New York seeks a senior subsea systems engineer to lead design across transport, seabed support, and retrieval. You will own critical interfaces and guide junior engineers, applying independent engineering judgment.

You will collaborate with shipyards, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, translating environmental loads into robust criteria while driving design maturity gates and technical quality.

Qualifications

• PhD in ocean, offshore, marine, naval, mechanical, structural, or civil engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in subsea systems, offshore structures, or related engineering.
• Deep technical foundation in at least one core subsea/installation discipline.
• Strong knowledge of offshore environmental loading, fatigue, corrosion, and lifecycle considerations.
• Experience reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical quality across the subsea program.

Responsibilities

• Lead subsea system design across transport, seabed landing, support, connection, operation, inspection, and retrieval.
• Review and justify environmental and operational load cases and design criteria.
• Own interfaces between reactor module and marine infrastructure (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.).
• Develop installation and retrieval concepts using heavy-lift vessels and landing systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure rigorous design review practices.
