Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Reston, VA is seeking a Subcontracts Leader to manage and execute project subcontracting activities. You will develop strategies, procedures, staffing plans, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan, reviewing bid details, commitments and negotiations.

The role requires leading a team, ensuring adherence to prime contract requirements, and coordinating with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Legal and Risk Management to mitigate risks and ensure

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience and courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.
• Thorough knowledge of subcontract formation procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
• Direct experience in management workload distribution, personnel interviews, selection, salary planning, performance evaluation, and terminations.
• Thorough understanding of contracts and flow-down of applicable clauses and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the project team on defining and developing the scope of Contracts work.
• Supervises assigned personnel in subcontract bid, evaluation, award, and administration.
• Prepares commercial terms and conditions for use on project contract documents.
• Coordinates contract execution plan with Engineering and Construction plans and operations.
• Reviews commitment approvals and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Develops a Subcontract Formation Program aligned with corporate procedures.
• Analyzes subcontract terms to identify risks and recommends mitigations.
