Job summary

Fay, part of S&B USA Construction, seeks a Structures Superintendent for the Long Bridge South Project in MD/DC/Northern Virginia. Direct all field construction activities to meet budget, schedule and safety goals on a $700 million program.

Responsibilities include planning construction methods, supervising foremen, maintaining schedules, coordinating with the project team and ensuring safety compliance. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience on demolition, heavy civil and/or heavy highway projects in a General Foreman or Craft Superintendent role.
• Knowledge of Crane and Hoisting Equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to supervise small to midsized groups.
• Good organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to manage Pile Driving operations (H-pile, Pipe Pile, Timber Pile, Sheet Pile).
• Ability to form and place concrete.
• Ability to set up Deck Screed Machines.

Responsibilities

• Direct all field construction activities and personnel to ensure project meets budget, schedule and safety objectives.
• Plans and supervises all activities including determining method of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment and work schedule.
• Trains and manages Foremen from various trades and field administrative personnel.
• Maintains open communication with Project Manager and owner regarding site problems, schedule and quality issues.
• Monitors safety program compliance; ensures safety inspections and toolbox talks are completed.
• Assists the Safety Department with incident investigations and follow-up.
• Assists Project Manager with subcontractor disputes, quality control and schedule coordination.
• Works with Project Manager and owner representatives to ensure work complies with drawings and specs.
• Provides input on cost and schedule forecasts and review of monthly pay requests.
