Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced mechanical/structural analyst to lead the structural and thermal analysis for a marine autonomous vehicle. You will own the analysis across the full design envelope, balancing pressure cycling, corrosion, and fatigue with buoyancy and endurance targets.

The role requires 7+ years in structural design/analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems and proficiency with Nastran/ANSYS/Abaqus. U.S. Secret clearance is required. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems.
• Proficiency with analysis tools (Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent).
• Experience with materials selection for corrosive or high-pressure environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own structural, mechanical, and thermal analysis for the vehicle.
• Perform structural analysis: FEA, hand calculations, and buckling.
• Verify structural interfaces with propulsion, buoyancy, energy, and payload systems.
• Drive trade studies balancing strength, weight, corrosion, and cost.
• Support prototype builds and structural test campaigns.
• Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and documentation.
• Travel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilities.
