Job summary

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in building design consulting.
• Proficiency with BIM software and structural design/analysis tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to train/mentor staff.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays.
• Sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design of structural systems for buildings and other structures.
• Lead design efforts as project manager or lead engineer for low- to moderate-complexity projects.
• Collaborate with senior staff on larger and more complex projects.
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools.
• Provide engineering solutions and technical guidance to clients.
• Support consulting-project execution as part of a project team.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Document design decisions and client instructions.
• Monitor design progress against percent complete and fee expended.
• Analyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions.
• Provide in-process design reviews of structural systems, calculations, and specifications.
• Implement quality-control processes.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and structural engineering best practices.
• Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager.
• Support projects through bidding, design, and construction administration phases.
• Work on public-sector, education, healthcare, multifamily, and commercial projects across the Southeast.
• Contribute to sustainable design goals, including SE2050.
