Job summary

Salas O’Brien’s Lakewood, CO office is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on designing industrial and commercial buildings across the U.S. You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams to deliver high-impact projects and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a strong background in structural systems, 5+ years of experience, and ABET‑accredited education. Candidates with an active PE license are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of consulting structural engineering with commercial building focus.
• PE license preferred; registered in good standing.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, masonry, steel systems and foundations.
• ABET-accredited BS in Structural or Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients on design issues and submittal schedules.
• Manage engineering team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor and train younger engineers.
• Oversee production of reports, calculations, 3D models and drawings.
• Produce construction drawings using design software like RISA, RAM, Concept, Bluebeam and REVIT.
