Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ or Albuquerque, NM—on-site with potential future hybrid flexibility. You will independently handle structural design projects of low to moderate complexity, coordinating with architects and geotechnical engineers to ensure constructability and timely delivery.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering, a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, passing the FE exam, and licensure as an E.I.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on structural engineering experience.
• FE exam passed; E.I. or P.E. license in at least one state.
• Proficiency in Revit for basic modeling is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate with architects and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design structural components and systems per codes and standards.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate structural solutions.
• Use finite element analysis and engineering software for modeling.
• Prepare structural drawings and specifications; support QA/QC reviews.
• Interpret and apply seismic detailing requirements.
• Address field issues and support construction.
• Set and manage project deadlines and deliverables.
