Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with 6+ years of related experience
• Graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience or 10+ years of experience without a degree
• Experience in mechanical analysis and testing for space/aerospace environments
• 3D CAD design experience with Creo or SolidWorks

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and test engineering for the build and test of subsystems and payloads.
• Lead mechanical analysis teams for IR payloads and mechanical subsystems.
• Author mechanical analysis sections of PDRs, CDRs, and other design reviews.
• Author mechanical analysis sections of CDRLs/SDRLs and other customer documents.
• Assist with schedule, cost, and technical leadership of major subsystems and payloads.
• Complete cost estimation of mechanical analysis BOEs for proposals.
• Participate in risk assessment and mitigation for complex optical payloads.
• Collaborate across functions to minimize gaps in requirements and payload performance.
