Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking a Sr Specialist in System Engineering focused on space optical systems. You will lead system architecture, requirements, and verification for space-based telescopes and related electromechanical subsystems.

The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, performing detailed design reviews, and supporting program planning. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly desirable and relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related scientific discipline and 6+ years of relevant experience.
Graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Professional experience in a systems engineering role across requirements, design, manufacturing and integration.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute system architecture and design plans.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for integration and provide technical leadership.
Perform technical analysis, manage specifications, and generate design reviews and documents.
Support test, verification, requirements sell-off, and EIDP generation efforts.
Mentor junior engineers and drive process improvement and MBSE adoption.
