Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Advanced Solutions Group. The role may be based in Tullahoma, TN; Farmington Hills, MI; or Greenville, SC.

The position leads structural engineers and drafters, delivering design from concept to construction using code-compliant methods and FE analysis. Collaboration with clients and other disciplines is essential in this multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required to comply with government regulations.
• BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design and analysis of structural systems.
• Proficiency with FE modeling (STAAD/ANSYS) and codes (IBC/AISC/ACI/ASCE).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineers and drafters through all project phases.
• Provide complete design from concept to construction.
• Apply design loading per codes and perform hand/FE analysis.
• Develop calculation packages including static, dynamic, blast, vibration, and thermal stresses.
• Oversee 3D models and 2D drawings; develop bid packages.
• Coordinate with clients and other engineering disciplines; present findings.
• Assist with planning, cost estimating, proposals, and marketing.
• Work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team to meet budgets.
