Job summary

Direct Start in Wisconsin is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to lead the structural design for new facilities and upgrades, guiding a team of engineers and drafters toward high-quality construction drawings, specifications and reports.

You will collaborate across disciplines, manage scope, budgets and schedules, meet with clients during planning, and ensure timely delivery within budget. PE is preferred or obtainable within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber design and familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
• PE is preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects as lead engineer for small to large projects, managing quality, budget, and schedule.
• Assist in preparing proposals and marketing materials by defining project scope and activities.
• Establish project scope, structural budgets, and design approach.
• Meet with client personnel to assist in preliminary planning and identifying design concepts.
• Work with clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Design structural systems for commercial/industrial facilities and prepare drawings and reports.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver successful projects.
• Visit project sites to observe construction progress.
