Job summary

Pennoni in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a full-time, direct hire role to lead projects and ensure robust structural solutions across markets. You will drive design, analysis, and detailing for concrete, steel, masonry and wood, while coordinating with clients, architects and engineers.

Responsibilities include field observations, budgeting, scheduling, QA/QC of documents, and mentoring junior staff. Strong Florida P.E. license and 8+ years' experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with Structural emphasis.
• 8+ years of professional structural engineering experience.
• Active P.E. license in Florida.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with RAM, STAAD, ENERCALC or Mathcad preferred.
• Strong communication and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and analysis of building structural systems for diverse markets.
• Manage projects, budgets, schedules and QA/QC of drawings.
• Interface with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
• Perform field investigations and site observations; travel up to 10%.
• Develop finite element models and prepare calculations.
• Mentor junior staff and drafters.
