Job summary

Terracon in Texas seeks a Practice Lead-Structural Engineer to guide investigations, remedial design, and consulting for rehabilitation of steel and concrete building infrastructure. Based in the San Antonio area, the role supports projects across Texas and offers locations in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Houston for flexibility.

The position leads multidisciplinary teams, develops project proposals, and mentors staff while expanding client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in building science or related field; 10+ years’ facility assessment experience (or 14+ years with no degree).
Master’s degree preferred.
Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide structural engineering and consulting services for remedial design and investigations (steel/concrete).
Lead multidisciplinary building engineering teams across projects in Texas.
Prepare construction documents and shop drawings for varied projects.
Develop and prepare proposals with scope, fees, and schedules.
Prepare professional reports with clear presentation of ideas and recommendations.
Mentor junior staff and cross-train team members in structural services.
Be involved in technical/professional associations.
Support business development and client relationship growth.
