The Lead Structural Engineer supports the Engineering Manager and supervises a team of structural engineers and designers. This role involves providing technical leadership, resolving discipline-related issues, defining project plans, and managing the team to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Understand project requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule.
2. Develop man-hour budgets for structural engineering work based on deliverables and timelines.
3. Create and integrate the structural manpower schedule with the overall project schedule.
4. Plan and revise the structural manpower staffing throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Develop the structural work plan for inclusion in the project execution plan.
6. Maintain and revise project scope documentation as needed.
7. Manage development of Engineering Work Packages and review design criteria and standards.
8. Assist in preparing project-specific procedures.
9. Define system requirements and monitor their effectiveness.
10. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality of work.
11. Represent the practice in engineering coordination meetings.
12. Coordinate design reviews and milestone assessments.
13. Ensure cross-practice coordination during design evolution.
14. Participate in project documentation reviews and personnel management.
15. Oversee 2D and 3D design production, reporting, and progress monitoring.
16. Coordinate resource mobilization and training.
17. Ensure compliance with engineering standards and procedures through audits and corrective actions.
18. Manage project changes and deviations, obtaining necessary approvals.
19. Collaborate with client representatives for effective communication.
20. Support site engineering and quality inspections as necessary.
21. Complete statutory and project-specific deliverables.
22. Ensure all work complies with Occupational Health and Safety standards and participate in safety planning.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements:

• Degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer license.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Experience in multidisciplinary projects and strong deliverable focus.
• Understanding of procurement, contracting, and commissioning.
• Technical familiarity with equipment technologies related to the project.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of 3D data-centric design systems/tools.
• Proven ability to delegate and manage successful outcomes.
• Experience with project procedures and workflows.
• Significant experience in engineering planning.
