Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works Division is hiring a Lead Structural Design Engineer for an advanced aircraft development program located in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  2. Maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools, providing product definition to engineering teams, production, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  3. Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  4. Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities, coordinating to optimize designs and meet program goals.
  5. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  6. Work under minimal supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed locations. The candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, with an active clearance in the past 24 months considered valid. U.S. citizenship is required for special program access.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate of Science in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Astronautical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience with 3D solid modeling software (Unigraphics).
  • 5+ years’ experience with structural design on military aerospace products.
Additional Information

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education and related work experience, e.g., PhD + 4 years or Master + 7 years. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.

Relocation assistance is available based on eligibility. The position offers a referral bonus and is a drug-free workplace. Compensation ranges from $113,050 to $152,950, based on experience and qualifications.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship. It must meet export control compliance requirements, including being a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15.
