The Role:

Are you passionate about driving innovative hardware designs from concept to production? We're seeking a Principal R&D/Product Development Engineer to lead the development of high-speed connectors, sockets, and cable assembly solutions for high-reliability, high-performance applications across critical industries like data infrastructure, automotive, and industrial automation.

In this remote U.S.-based role, you’ll be a technical leader from the earliest customer conversations through simulation, prototyping, validation, and launch. You'll work cross-functionally with internal engineering, operations, and global manufacturing teams — driving quality, cost, and timeline success using a structured LEANPD framework.

What You’ll Do:

• Own product development from market definition to release for high-speed connectors, sockets, and cable assemblies.
• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements and 2D/3D designs (Creo preferred).
• Run mechanical/thermal simulations and conduct feasibility and DFMEA/tolerance analysis.
• Build and test prototypes, oversee product validation and qualification.
• Resolve product issues and lead change management (ECN/PCN).
• Collaborate across global teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain technical documentation including drawings, specs, and test protocols.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in mechanical design, preferably with electrical/mechanical interconnect products.
• Deep expertise in connector, socket, or cable assembly design.
• Skilled in Creo or similar CAD tools; experienced in GD&T, FEA (Ansys), and DFM principles.
• Excellent communication skills; thrives in cross-functional and global environments.
