Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Mesa, AZ seeks a Lead Structural Analysis Engineer. You will lead a team of engineers performing strength analyses on metallic and composite structures, mentor staff, and document results. You must communicate with stakeholders and program leaders while coordinating cross-functional IPT activities.

Advanced knowledge of classical/FEA methods is required, with travel as needed and a U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace or Materials Science.
• 14+ years' related work experience or equivalent.
• Experience performing stress analysis on composite structures, laminates or bonded assemblies.
• 7+ years' experience with finite element modeling methods and tools (e.g., Hypermesh, MSC Nastran/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Stress Check).

Responsibilities

• Lead development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
• Guide product design and verify structural integrity using analytical methods, FEM models, and other analysis tools throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead development of test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze results to verify requirements.
• Define and document certification/test results to substantiate for customers and regulators.
• Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analysing improvements.
• Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency.
• Work under minimal direction.
