Job summary

North Central Surgical Center in Dallas, TX, seeks a Full-Time Sterile Processing Technician for the Evening Shift (3p–11p). You will set up, sterilize, and manage instruments for surgery, supporting the SPD department and the medical staff.

Requires CPST certification, a High School Diploma, 2–3 years in instrument room work, and knowledge of steam/gravity sterilizers; familiarity with Sterrad sterilizers; strong organization, recordkeeping, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• CPST certification required.

• 2–3 years of instrument room experience.
• Familiarity with steam/gravity sterilizers and Sterrad.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of the instrument room.

The North Central Surgical Center is seeking aFull-Time Sterile Processing Technicianto join our team for the Evening Shift Monday - Friday (3p - 11p). This position is eligible for the Full-Time Benefits Package and an evening shift differential rate!

TheSterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation. Sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases to serve mainly at the Main Hospital SPD Department. As theSterile Processing Technician at North Central Surgical Center, you will contribute to the team by:

• Daily management of the instrument room.
• Maintains the inventory of instrumentation and supplies necessary for the smooth functioning of the instrument room.
• Responsible for the maintenance of purchased and/or borrowed implant sets.
• Communicates and works effectively with all personnel, physicians, and hospital departments.
• Demonstrates dependability and accountability.
• Seeks continued growth and education.
• Sterilize instruments, equipment, utensils, linen and supplies using various types of autoclaves and aerator
• Assemble and wrap material, instruments and supplies according to established aseptic technique.
• Pulls supplies and instruments for all surgical cases.
• Disassemble and clean equipment using approved disinfectants, detergents, soaps and cleaners.
• Reassembles equipment after cleaning and operates to test for proper functioning; replace lost or damaged parts.

• Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
