Job summary

Race Rock Group seeks a Detail Area Production Supervisor to oversee plasma, oxy-fuel, beveling, drilling, and forming operations in steel fabrication. You will supervise the detail area team, coordinate workflow with Plant Superintendent and QA, and ensure adherence to production schedules and safety policies.

Key responsibilities include ensuring tight material traceability, performing first-article inspections per AWS D1.1, and driving continuous improvement through 5S and lean initiatives

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of supervisory experience in fabrication/steel.
• Experience in structural steel fabrication and plate processing.
• Proficient in plasma, oxy-fuel, and beveling welding/cutting.
• Familiar with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
• Knowledge of Syspro ERP and SigmaNEST nesting software.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and BOMs.
• Able to meet takt time and production targets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; data reporting.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Detail Area personnel in plasma, oxy-fuel, beveling, drilling, and forming operations.
• Coordinate workflow, scheduling, and material releases to meet takt time.
• Verify programs, plate grades, thicknesses, and heat numbers.
• Perform first-article inspections per AWS D1.1 and drawings.
• Maintain traceability and documentation for full material traceability.
• Lead 5S and lean initiatives; drive safety and KPI reporting.
• Coordinate maintenance and daily equipment checks.
• Collaborate with Drafting, QA, and Project Management.
