Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company, based in Dallas, TX, seeks a Manager of Station Broadcasting to lead daily on-air operations, oversee broadcast systems, and drive technical excellence through a dedicated team.

You will manage broadcast equipment, ensure FCC compliance, coordinate with engineers and third parties, and provide 24/7 on-call support to keep the station on air.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years in broadcast operations, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in broadcast station operations or engineering.
  • Broadcast Engineering Certification (FCC license or SBE) is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all broadcast equipment/systems for daily on-air operation.
  • Oversee ancillary systems such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC rules to protect the license.
  • Coordinate with third parties to resolve issues and escalate as needed.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support to keep the station running.
  • Coordinate training and development for Station Technicians and Engineers.

Skills

Engineering degree
5+ years experience
FCC/SBE certification a plus
Driver's license
Microsoft Office proficiency

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) or related field
