Job summary

Trustly is expanding its US engineering hubs and seeks aStaff-level software leader to own Native Connectivity Platform end-to-end. You will drive architecture, reliability, and production operations while leveraging AI tools to map code and write runbooks.

You will mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and collaborate across the Americas and Europe to deliver resilient connections to financial institutions. Hybrid SF office.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating production software systems, including senior ownership.
• Hands-on experience with payments, banking or financial systems where uptime and correctness matter.
• Experience with pager/stress incidents and improving systems after outages.
• Proven ability to take over and own an unfamiliar, business-critical codebase.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, service contracts and production health of Native Connectivity Platform.
• Operate services: on-call, SLAs, incident response and root-cause fixes.
• Meet observability standards and improve service metrics each quarter.
• Use AI tools to map existing code and produce design docs, interface defs and runbooks.
• Partner with engineers across the Americas and Europe to transfer knowledge.
• Direct AI-assisted implementation: plan, review, and drive integration testing.
• Help hire and shape the team owning this domain.
