Job summary

A Pacific Northwest general contractor seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to lead safety implementation on federal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have over five years of safety experience and will ensure compliance with federal safety regulations. Responsibilities include conducting jobsite safety inspections, leading safety orientations, and partnering with various teams to embed safety into daily operations. Salary offers range from $110,000 to $135,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience with at least 3 years on federal or EM 385 governed projects.
• Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and federal safety compliance requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification and First Aid / CPR certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Site Specific Safety Plans.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
• Serve as the designated 'Competent Person' for applicable safety disciplines.
