Job summary

Experis Technology Group is seeking a Senior SRE/Core Infrastructure Lead in a hybrid role based in Greenwich, CT. You will lead a team of infra engineers, defining architecture and standards for VMware, cloud platforms and on-premises infrastructure while hands-on engineering remains part of your role.

You will own the observability and reliability program, manage on-call and incident response, and drive automation across Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python, partnering with security,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in systems administration, infrastructure engineering or cloud engineering.
• Expert-level, hands-on VMware experience (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration at enterprise scale.
• Strong enterprise storage and backup expertise: SAN, NAS, RAID, snapshots, replication, backup and recovery.
• Proven experience designing and running workloads in AWS and/or Azure.
• Advanced Datadog experience: building monitors, dashboards, alerts and SLOs at scale.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls and load balancing.
• Experience with budgeting, vendor management and technology roadmapping.
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting to technical teams and leadership.
• Willingness to participate in and manage an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, balancing delivery, operations and technical debt.
• Own architecture, standards and reference designs for VMware, compute, storage, backup and cloud platforms.
• Build and maintain the infrastructure technology roadmap, including hybrid-cloud plans.
• Define and enforce observability standards, dashboards and MTTR improvements.
• Manage on-call rotations, incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Oversee budgeting, licensing, vendor management and DR planning.
• Drive automation with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with security, networking, cloud, identity and business teams.
