Job summary

ESG - USA is seeking a Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable cloud and on‑prem infrastructure in a hybrid environment. The role partners with development, security, and infrastructure teams to drive automation, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on cloud, virtualization, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and FinOps experience, and will mentor engineers while owning complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7-8+ years in DevOps/Cloud/Infrastructure roles.
• 5+ years with Windows/Linux/SQL‑based systems.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) expertise.
• VMware and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes) in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect and maintain cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure using IaC.
• Drive automation across provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and recovery processes.
• Design and maintain observability with Datadog (metrics, logs, traces, alerts).
• Establish monitoring, SLOs, and alerting to improve reliability and reduce MTTR.
• Own cloud cost efficiency and implementing cost controls without performance loss.
• Manage configuration management with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Lead VMware environments for HA, scalability, and performance.
• Serve as senior escalation point for incidents and drive remediation.
• Partner with security to enforce infrastructure security and compliance.
• Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and improvements.
• Perform capacity planning and cost analysis; mentor junior engineers.
• Create architecture diagrams and operational documentation.
