Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - SRE Cloud Engineer in Ohio/Columbus area to lead design, deployment, and monitoring of cloud-based software systems. The role emphasizes scalable architectures, automated pipelines, and proactive incident management.

You will work with Kubernetes, Terraform, and data pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and security across critical financial applications.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Strong analysis, research, investigation, and evaluation skills.
• Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, Scala, and/or .Net.
• Hands-on with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Experience developing and running data pipelines using PySpark and good debugging skills.
• Experience managing and developing/deploying on Cloud (private or public).
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, OTEL, Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana.
• Knowledge of GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SONAR, SPLUNK, Maven, AIM and Continuous Delivery tools.
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to support SRE workflows with strong validation habits.

Responsibilities

• Guides and assists others in building appropriate level designs and obtaining peer consensus.
• Collaborates to design and implement deployment approaches using CI/CD pipelines.
• Design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, scalability solutions in applications.
• Implements infrastructure as code for applications and platforms.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve complex problems.
• Understands service level indicators and uses service level objectives to proactively resolve issues.
• Supports the adoption of SRE best practices within the team.
• Monitors production alerts and provides L1/L2 support to minimize impact.
• Provides weekend and on-call production support as part of team rotation.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
