Responsible for day-to-day operations and prioritizes work flows within the SPS department on their specific shift. Ensures staff members adhere to SPS policies and standard work while performing their assigned daily tasks. In coordination with SPS Technician 3, provides training and competency validation checks for new staff. Maintains a thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization, and sterile processing. Performs a variety of processing duties at an advanced level, including decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, sterilization and case cart assembly. Ensures that all required daily documentation is accurate and complete for efficient distribution of high-quality sterile products to effectively meet customer expectations. Works in collaboration with peri-operative services to provide appropriate surgical instrumentation. Leads daily shift huddle and maintains Lean Visual Management Board. Participates in quality safety council meetings.
