Job summary

Sports X is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Lead Coach to implement and oversee youth sports programs at local elementary schools and venues in central Orange County. You will coach children across soccer, basketball, flag football, and volleyball, ensuring a safe, engaging environment and smooth session execution.

The ideal candidate is passionate about sports and working with elementary-aged students, with CPR/First Aid certification and reliable transportation to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Own transportation to multiple sites in central Orange County.
• Availability for after-school programs 12–4:30 or 1:30–6:00 pm.
• Experience with children or childcare settings is essential.
• Excellent communication and enthusiastic attitude toward youth development.

Sports X is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic experienced Lead Coach to implement and oversee youth sports programs. This role involves coaching children in various sports (soccer, basketball, flag football, Volleyball) ensuring a safe and engaging environment, and managing program activities.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for sports and working with young elementary school aged students.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead youth sports programs at different elementary schools / sports venues
• Supervise children during sessions, to ensure safe and fun games.
• Manage equipment, set up, clean up, and coach rosters.
• Help and develop growth in other coaches, kids, and self growth in the Sports X philosophy.
• Lead by example in demonstrating sportsmanship, respect, and enthusiasm for physical activity.

Requirements

• Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certified.
• Your own means of transportation to and from different locations for our sessions. Typically in the central Orange County area
• Availability for after school programs 12-4:30 or 1:30-6:00 pm. (Time varies based on location)
• Experience working with children or in childcare settings is essential.
• Strong skills in behavior management to handle diverse student needs effectively.
• Ability to engage children through teaching methods that promote learning and enjoyment of sports.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff.

This is a part-time role with an expected amount of 10-20 work hours per week. Expected pay is $24-26 per hour. This is an in-person role that requires having reliable transportation. Opportunity for more hours and for commission pay is available for qualified candidates.
