Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Specialty Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure quality controls across shifts at the Blood Bank.

Responsibilities include maintaining accreditation, coordinating training, and preparing reports on budget variance and performance metrics. This role requires a Bachelor's in science with 4+ years in a clinical lab, a NYS license or ASCP certification, and strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science with 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required
• Master's degree in science with 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by DOH/Office of Professions required
• ASCP Certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations and supervise subordinate personnel.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
• Develop and update laboratory procedures and methodologies as needed.
• Provide quality control measures and document results; implement corrective actions.
• Recruit, interview, and evaluate staff; provide training and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting and governmental standards and maintains licensure.
