Job description

Join to apply for the Lead Specialist Solutions Architect role at Databricks.

As a Product Specialist - Builder Team, you will build, maintain, and support projects that extend the Databricks platform to democratize data and AI use cases faster. You will advance the roadmap for key projects, evaluate partner solutions, and support infrastructure to maintain Databricks Labs, enabling field engineering contributions. The ideal candidate will have strong customer empathy, product focus, and a data-driven mindset, working with partners, customers, and stakeholders to evolve tooling solutions. You will report to Guenia Izquierdo, Product Specialist Leader - Builder Team, within the Field Engineering Scale organization.

The Impact You Will Have:

1. Build, debug, and extend internal and public infrastructure components of the Databricks Labs ecosystem.
2. Author high-quality technical documentation, reference architectures, and internal guides to scale knowledge and best practices.
3. Establish and document engineering best practices, coding standards, and reusable patterns for Labs projects.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and drive project execution.
5. Contribute to the evaluation, adoption, and integration of new technologies relevant to Databricks Labs and automation tooling.

What We Look For:

1. Experience working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
2. 10+ years of production experience in at least three of the following: Terraform, Scala, Go, Apache Spark, Java, Python. Experience with one compiled language is required.
3. Passion for defensive programming and building scalable, reliable software.
4. Motivated by delivering customer value and impact.
5. BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6. Excellent communication skills, with a track record of producing clear technical documentation and sharing knowledge.

Pay ranges are listed below, reflecting base salary or on-target earnings, based on factors like skills, experience, certifications, and location. Total compensation may include bonuses, equity, and listed benefits.

• Zone 1: $228,800—$350,800 USD
• Zone 2: $228,800—$350,800 USD
• Zone 3: $228,800—$350,800 USD
