Family of Kidz seeks a Special Educator for an 8:1:2 classroom in Mt Vernon, NY for the 2026-2027 school year. This leave-replacement role is fee-for-service at $50–$80/hour, with hours Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:00 and calendar-based scheduling.

The position emphasizes IEP-aligned, multisensory instruction, data collection, and collaboration with therapists, administrators, and families. Certification and experience are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS SWD Certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience supporting children and families preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead Special Education Teacher in an 8:1:2 classroom for the leave replacement.
• Develop and implement individualized, differentiated, multisensory instruction aligned with IEPs and standards.
• Create lesson plans, schedules, and routines addressing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and BIP with fidelity.
• Collect and analyze data on IEP goals and progress.
• Maintain accurate attendance and daily electronic billing.
• Provide direction to assistants and staff to ensure consistent programming.
• Collaborate with related service providers, families, and school team.
