Job summary

Children's Academy NYC is seeking NYS Certified Special Education Teachers for the upcoming school year starting in July 2025. The role involves leading small groups, planning lessons aligned to standards, and differentiating instruction for diverse learners.

Collaboration with families and progress reporting are key parts of the job. Required is a Masters in education and at least 1 year of experience with students who have special needs, including speech and language delays.

Qualifications

• NYS Certified Special Education Teacher.
• Masters degree in education or related field.
• Experience with students with speech and language delays and learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group academics and 1:1 work with students.
• Plan coherent lessons aligned to state standards.
• Modify lessons to meet diverse learners.
• Differentiate instruction where appropriate.
• Design classroom routines, procedures and activities.
• Facilitate collaborative team meetings.
• Assess progress and develop learning goals.
• Collaborate with classroom team and families.
