Job summary

Children's Academy is seeking NYS certified Special Education Teachers for the upcoming school year starting July 2025. The role focuses on supporting students with speech and language delays and learning disabilities, planning lessons aligned to standards, and collaborating with families and an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include a Masters degree in education (or related field) and NYS certification, with at least one year of experience in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and developmental milestones.
• Experience working with students with speech and language delays and learning disabilities.
• Strong writing skills for progress reports.
• Ability to collaborate with a team and with families.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group academics and provide 1:1 support as needed.
• Plan coherent lessons aligned to state standards.
• Modify activities and assignments to meet diverse learner needs.
• Differentiate instruction where appropriate.
• Design classroom routines, procedures, and activities.
• Facilitate collaborative team meetings.
• Assess each student's progress and set learning goals.
• Collaborate with classroom team to use data for individualized instruction.
