Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer in Chantilly, VA to own full-cycle PCB design for spacecraft and related systems. You will gather requirements, design schematics, select components, guide layout, bring-up, test, and integration, while mentoring a team and contributing as an individual contributor.

The role requires TS clearance, extensive space hardware experience, and strong leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• 20+ years in hardware product development; 10+ designing space flight hardware.
• PCB layout techniques for space flight requirements (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing).
• Ability to read schematics and apply best practices for each design.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, MIPI CSI-2, etc.
• Familiarity with MCU/CPU/FPGA devices and technologies.
• Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and circuits.
• Ability to set work priorities from management direction.
• Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent E-CAD tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Ownership and autonomy across cradle-to-grave space hardware subsystems.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design market-leading hardware products with cross-functional teams.
• Lead rapid prototyping, verification, and qualification for space hardware.
• Apply space-flight design standards for high-reliability assemblies.
• Develop high-speed digital, precision analog, RF, and mixed designs.
• Establish internal guidelines for space hardware design, testing, and manufacturing.
• Mentor team and conduct peer design reviews.
• Low-level firmware bring-up and testing.
• Root-cause analysis for production operations.
• Manage multiple projects and customer needs in a fast-paced environment.
