Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector seeks a Space Vehicle Chief Engineer (Level 7) to lead engineering for the program in Redondo Beach, CA. The role requires 16+ years in STEM with top-tier leadership experience and an active TS/SCI clearance. You will drive technical direction, risk management, and customer engagement on a high-profile space vehicle program.

Expected travel up to 25%. The team collaborates across BUs and industry partners to deliver complex systems with robust engineering

Qualifications

Active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
5+ years of experience leading engineering teams and/or organizations.
Full space vehicle engineering lifecycle experience from concept through manufacturing and operations.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the technical development and direction of all vehicle engineering aspects on the program.
Advise the program manager and serve as primary technical contact to the customer.
Lead technical execution for complex programs, ensuring cost, schedule and performance objectives.
Maintain cognizance over technical activities and ensure cross-disciplinary integration of best practices.
Provide input on risks, issues and opportunities and mitigation strategies.
Review and validate impact of risks and opportunities on product and system development.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers for practical end results.
Lead knowledge transfer on internal and external technical solutions.
