Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced RF Payload Lead to design, integrate, and test mission‑critical RF payloads for space vehicles. You will drive RF subsystem architecture, antenna and front‑end development, and SDR integration, collaborating with spacecraft subsystems to ensure mission success.

You will lead from concept through flight‑ready implementation, mentor junior engineers, and ensure performance under space environment constraints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in RF or microwave circuit design.
• Experience designing custom RF hardware or integrating COTS RF hardware through simulation, fabrication, testing, and optimization for Space Payloads.
• Experience with EM simulation in RF design.
• Experience with RF measurement tools (spectrum analyzers, scopes, signal generators).
• Proficiency with RF design tools such as AWR Microwave Office, HFSS or FEKO.
• Knowledge of AS9100 standards, mission assurance, and space hardware guidelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug RF hardware.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment.
• Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF payload design, integration, and test from concept to flight-ready delivery.
• Guide RF subsystem architecture, antenna and front-end development, and SDR-based capabilities.
• Collaborate with spacecraft subsystems to ensure interfaces meet mission goals.
• Perform verification activities for environmental, functional, and performance tests.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering rigor and roadmap development.
