Job summary

The company is seeking a Principal RF Payload Lead Engineer to own end-to-end architecture, design, development and on-orbit performance of RF payloads for direct-to-device connectivity. You will lead from concept through deployment in a new Space Network group.

Responsibilities span architecture, phased-array design, link budgets, testing, and regulatory considerations, with cross-functional collaboration across RF, antenna, satellite, cellular, RAN, and network teams.

Qualifications

• Designed RF systems with build and validation, deployed in commercial products.
• End-to-end ownership of RF system design from requirements to testing and deployment.
• Strong understanding of cellular standards and satellite communications architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end RF payload architecture, including phased-array antennas and RF front ends.
• Lead phased-array design, beamforming, calibration and over-the-air testing.
• Own link budgets, modulation and coding, Doppler analysis and interference considerations.
• Define system requirements and trade-offs across RF, antenna, satellite subsystems.
• Lead RF payload integration and test, including environmental qualification.
• Collaborate with cellular engineering to ensure 3GPP NTN compatibility and interop.
