Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Director, Test Site Operations to oversee all test infrastructure and operations at the NASA Stennis Space Center facility. The role demands leadership of engineers and technicians, managing engine test programs, test stand builds, and production-scale test operations while coordinating across departments.

You will develop project plans, budgets, and schedules, supervise contractors, and continually improve test-site infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in propulsion engineering and/or propulsion test leadership.
• Proven experience leading high-paced technical programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor technical staff (engineers and technicians) in engine test operations.
• Oversee test stand build, engine assembly, operations, and maintenance of test infrastructure.
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules across multiple departments.
• Manage external contractors and suppliers.
• Improve test site infrastructure to enable multiple engine tests per day.
• Oversee site administration, supply chain, and logistics.
• Ensure health and safety of the team.
