Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a seasoned Lead Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturing for space hardware including CCAs, microelectronic assemblies, and RF components. You will partner with design, mechanical, and electrical teams to optimize throughput and develop robust build strategies.

The role emphasizes tooling development, AMS creation, and continuous improvement to reduce waste while enhancing safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience; or graduate degree with 7+ years.
• Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience working on circuit card assemblies (CCAs).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily logistics and workflow with design/mechanical/electrical engineers to maximize throughput and build strategies.
• Provide manufacturing technicians with guidance, coaching and training.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Design and develop manufacturing tools, strategies, and systems with a focus on mistake proofing.
• Create manufacturing fixtures using in-house Additive Manufacturing processes.
• Generate and update Assembly Method Sheets (AMS) and direct day-to-day tasks.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce waste, improve safety and quality.
• Interface with complex hardware including CCAs and RF assemblies.
• Monitor defect trends and drive root cause/corrective actions.
• Lead lean/process improvement initiatives and support FRB investigations.
• Review/approve drawings and parts list revisions and implement changes.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and determine tooling needs for new/existing lines.
• Ensure hardware producibility and build strategies in collaboration with design/manufacturing.
• Provide advanced technical support to solve problems through process improvements.
