Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Space Embedded Software Engineer focused on RTOS. You will develop firmware to control spacecraft and reentry systems, owning the software lifecycle from design through test and flight support, in C++ within RTOS or Linux environments.

The role emphasizes real-time embedded safety-critical software experience, with on-site work in El Segundo, CA and potential stock options as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software.
• 5+ years of experience in the development of spacecraft or similar safety critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware / software systems.
• Experience with C++, along with a strong understanding of language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft hardware and reentry capsule operation.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration and testing.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and initial design trades.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure system quality and performance via software test, verification, and validation.
