Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Space Data Network Systems Engineer to support the SDN program from our El Segundo facility. The role focuses on general systems engineering support within an integrated program office serving USSF and related customers.

Applicants must have extensive engineering experience, an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one, and readiness to travel domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, mathematics, or related technical degree.
• 12+ years of engineering experience in systems engineering or program management.
• Experience building and maintaining effective interpersonal relations with customers, Aerospace, contractors, or related.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Willing to travel domestically approximately 10-15%.
• Current Top Secret/SSBI/SCI clearance to interview with ability to obtain additional clearances.

Responsibilities

• Act as an SDN systems engineer to support rapid and high-capacity SDN acquisition and launch.
• Advise the customer, including government leadership, in formulating, evaluating, and overseeing understanding of system requirements.
• Provide insights on risks, issues, opportunities, and mitigation strategies to Aerospace leadership and the customer.
• Work day-to-day to solve challenging systems engineering problems and develop creative solutions.
• Establish and maintain confidence and trust of the government customer.
