Job summary

Joseph’s Classic Market in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Chef in leading daily kitchen operations across Prepared Foods, Catering, and other foodservice areas. The role focuses on quality, consistency, and efficiency, while developing a high-performing team.

You will follow HACCP guidelines, manage production schedules, monitor inventory, train staff, and help implement kitchen strategies to deliver authentic Italian flavors and exceptional products to customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in high-volume or quantity food production.
• ServSafe Certification and/or current Food Manager Certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and kitchen operations.
• Ability to accurately measure ingredients, follow recipes, and adjust quantities as needed.
• Experience with inventory tracking and basic data entry.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• A passion for serving people.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in leading daily kitchen operations across Prepared Foods, Catering, and other foodservice areas.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency, with a focus on authentic Italian flavors.
• Follow and enforce food safety standards, including HACCP guidelines for time, temperature, and handling.
• Execute production schedules, ensuring proper quantities are prepared while minimizing waste.
• Monitor portion control, recipe adherence, and overall product consistency.
• Train, motivate, and support team members to maintain strong performance and accountability.
• Assist in implementing kitchen strategies aligned with company goals and operational standards.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager or store leadership.
