Morrison Healthcare in Raleigh is hiring for a full-time Sous Chef - Hourly position at WakeMed Raleigh. The role requires prior lead cook experience and offers $23.00–$25.00 per hour. Schedule varies; full-time hours are discussed at interview. Online applications are accepted only.

The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef, coordinate cooks and food-service staff, and ensure quality and safety standards for meals served to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Prior lead cook experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and counseling.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and keeps workstation clean.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and explains them to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; tracks production, consumption and waste.
