Job summary

The Sommelier role at a luxury private-island resort in the Florida Keys offers ownership of a high-end wine program and guest-facing wine service.

You will curate an extensive wine list, advise guests on pairings, collaborate with culinary on menus, conduct tastings, and train the F&B staff while driving wine revenue.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sommelier in luxury hotel/resort or fine-dining.
• Knowledge of international wines and wine service.
• Experience training F&B teams.
• Strong commercial awareness to drive wine revenue.
• Wine qualifications desirable (WSET, CMS).

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional wine experience to guests.
• Develop and manage the resort's wine program.
• Curate an extensive wine selection.
• Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings.
• Collaborate with culinary team on wine pairings and menu changes.
• Conduct wine tastings and guest education.
• Train the F&B team on wine knowledge and service.
• Manage wine inventory, purchasing and stock levels.
• Build relationships with suppliers and distributors.
• Drive wine sales through informed recommendations.
