Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead IT Infrastructure Operations for the Z Machine and Z Beamlet facilities. You will guide architecture, operations, modernization, and cyber assurance of complex computing, storage, and network systems in a highly secure, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, CS, Engineering, or STEM + 5+ years related experience.
• Experience architecting, administering, or supporting complex enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Experience applying cybersecurity requirements, controls, compliance, risk management, and accreditation processes.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, resolve complex issues, and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Z Machine IT Infrastructure Operations team and ensure reliable IT services.
• Serve as the lead architect for IT infrastructure solutions across compute, storage, networks, and identity.
• Lead or support SSP development and security controls for facility networks.
• Translate customer requirements into secure architectures and operational support models.
• Develop configuration management, patching, monitoring, and automation processes.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues impacting Z Machine operations.
• Maintain technical and cybersecurity documentation and accreditation artifacts.
