Job summary

Deriva Energy is seeking a Lead Solar Technician to support multiple Idaho solar projects, overseeing crews and ensuring maintenance and operations across sites such as Jackpot Solar, Franklin Solar, and Black Mesa Solar. The role emphasizes safety, mentoring, and strong problem-solving across electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High School/GED requirement and 6+ years of related work experience.
• Internal Candidates: at least 2+ years of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Solar Technician.
• Associate degree in electrical construction and maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leads crews of technicians to complete required duties.
• Interact directly with the customer as directed by the manager.
• Train and mentor employees as directed by the manager.
• Oversee and perform operations, planned maintenance, and unplanned maintenance on sub-station equipment.
• Troubleshoot and communicate warranty issues to OEMs.
• Oversee daily work activities including reporting needs.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Work on solar facility tasks and assist in mobilizing crews.
